“I Got Rhythm”
George Gershwin
1930

During the performance, Billie Holiday, who likes to wear white gardenias. She and her golden age of jazz are the inspirations for this work. We associate jazz with flowers. The improvisation and variation of jazz have also become the performance techniques and visual language of this work. The flowers sway with the music, get rid of the restraint of gravity and break the established form of the previous flower arrangement. The flowers live up to the rhythm, expressing themselves freely in the air. (When watching this series of works, please match the tracks in the following playlist for better appreciation.)
